What it is

SearXNG is open-source metasearch software. You run it on your own server, and it queries engines like Google, Bing, Brave and DuckDuckGo for you, returning combined results as JSON.

How Larvabot keeps it free

Nothing to meter. Larvabot searches a few dozen times a day, well within what upstream engines tolerate. Protect your instance with a password so it isn't public.

Set it up

1Point a subdomain (for example search.yourdomain.com) at your server
2Run Larvabot's installer: Docker + automatic HTTPS, or a native install for servers with a control panel such as CloudPanel
3Paste https://user:password@your-subdomain into Settings → Search → SearXNG URL

No API key needed.
