Acceptable use policy

Larvabot exists for small, personal, honest outreach. This policy is part of our terms of service. If you break it, we may pause or close your account.

#Do

• Contact people individually, about a page or conversation that's genuinely relevant to them.
• Say who you are and that you made the thing you're mentioning.
• Honour every opt-out, unsubscribe and "no thanks" straight away.
• Follow the laws that apply to your outreach, and each community's rules.
• Keep your sending volume modest, especially on a new domain.

#Don't

• Spam. No bulk, untargeted or purchased-list emailing, and no messages to people who have opted out.
• Deceive. No fake identities, sock-puppet accounts, posing as a happy customer, misleading subject lines or false claims about your product.
• Game communities. No vote manipulation, asking for upvotes, or posting where self-promotion isn't allowed.
• Harass. No threatening, abusive, discriminatory or hateful messages, and no repeated contact after someone says no.
• Promote illegal or harmful things. No malware, phishing, scams, adult content, weapons, drugs, gambling where it's unlawful, or anything else illegal where you or your recipients are.
• Misuse data. No collecting or using personal data you have no right to, and no importing contacts who haven't given you a reason to message them.
• Abuse the service. No attacking, overloading or probing Larvabot, bypassing its limits or quota guard, sharing accounts, or overusing shared resources such as the shared search server.
• Break other services' rules. Use AI, search, email and community services only in ways their terms allow.

#Reporting abuse

If you received unwanted messages from someone using Larvabot, or see Larvabot being misused, write to hello@larvabot.com with what happened. We take reports seriously and will act on them.
